All Details

I am the Guava L-49 (Allahabadi Surkha), the blushing beauty of the guava world. My attractive, pink-tinged skin encases a stunning deep pink, aromatic, and sweet flesh, making me a dual delight—visually striking and deliciously flavorful for both fresh eating and processing.

I am a popular, high-yielding guava cultivar, known for its distinctive pink skin and flesh, excellent sweetness, and relatively soft seeds, often grown for both the fresh fruit market and juice production.

A cultivated variety developed in India, specifically associated with the Allahabad region. The "L-49" is a common commercial clone.

Water deeply and regularly, especially during flowering and fruit development. Mature trees are moderately drought-tolerant but produce better with consistent moisture.

Requires full sun (at least 6-8 hours daily) for optimal growth, color development, and sugar content.

Thrives in warm climates (20-30°C); sensitive to frost and cold winds.

Plant in well-drained, fertile soil. Space trees 4-5 meters apart to allow for canopy spread.

Feed with a balanced NPK fertilizer quarterly, with added potassium during the fruiting stage for enhanced color and sweetness.

Botanical name: Psidium guajava 'L-49' (Allahabadi Surkha); Family: Myrtaceae.

The ripe fruit pulp is safe for pets in moderation. Caution: Seeds can be a choking hazard, and leaves/ unripe fruit may cause stomach upset.

High; as a fruit tree, I contribute significantly to oxygen production, shade, and local ecosystem support.

Produces abundant, vitamin C-rich, visually appealing pink-fleshed fruits; good for fresh consumption, juices, and desserts; relatively fast-growing and fruitful.

Susceptible to fruit flies, guava moths, and anthracnose fungus; can be affected by rust and root rot in waterlogged soils.

Productive for 15-25 years, sometimes longer with good care. Grows 3-5 meters tall but can be kept smaller with pruning.

Everyday 8:30AM to 6:30PM
