All Details

I am the Arelia, the elegant false aralia. My slender, finger-like leaflets with serrated edges are arranged with artistic precision on upright stems, creating a sophisticated, lacy texture that adds a touch of delicate formality to indoor plant collections.

I am a popular ornamental foliage plant, valued for my finely divided, almost feathery leaves that start with a coppery-bronze hue and mature to a deep, rich green, giving a palm-like or fern-like appearance.

Native to New Caledonia in the South Pacific; cultivated worldwide as a distinctive and elegant houseplant.

Water when the top inch of soil feels dry. Prefers consistently moist but not soggy soil. Reduce watering in winter.

Prefers bright, indirect light. Can tolerate medium light but may become leggy in low light. Avoid direct harsh sun.

Thrives in average room temperatures (18-24°C). Sensitive to cold drafts and temperatures below 15°C.

Plant in a well-draining, peat-based potting mix. Use a container with drainage holes.

Feed every two weeks during spring and summer with a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength.

Botanical name: Plerandra elegantissima (formerly Schefflera elegantissima and Dizygotheca elegantissima); Common names: False Aralia, Spider Aralia; Family: Araliaceae.

Mildly toxic to cats and dogs if ingested, potentially causing oral irritation, vomiting, or drooling.

Moderate; contributes to improving indoor air humidity and quality.

Adds unique texture and vertical interest as a specimen plant; relatively slow-growing and well-suited for tabletop or floor displays.

Leaf drop due to sudden temperature changes, drafts, or improper watering; susceptible to spider mites, especially in dry air; lower leaf loss is natural as it matures.

Can be a long-lived houseplant for many years with proper care. Typically grows 1-2 meters tall indoors over time.

Everyday 8:30AM to 6:30PM
