All Details

I am the Asparagus Mary, the feathery emerald cloud. My delicate, needle-like foliage forms soft, plume-like fronds that cascade gracefully, adding a light, airy texture and vibrant green freshness to hanging baskets, mixed containers, and garden beds.

I am a versatile, fern-like perennial plant (though not a true fern), prized for my fine, feathery foliage and use as a filler in floral arrangements and ornamental gardening, both indoors and outdoors.

Cultivated variety of Asparagus fern, likely a cultivar of Asparagus setaceus or Asparagus densiflorus, bred for compact and attractive growth.

Water regularly to keep soil evenly moist, but not waterlogged. Tolerates slight drying between waterings. Reduce watering in winter.

Prefers bright, indirect light. Can tolerate some morning sun but should be protected from harsh afternoon rays.

Thrives in average to warm temperatures (16-24°C). Protect from frost.

Plant in well-draining, rich potting mix. Suitable for hanging baskets, containers, or as ground cover in warm climates.

Feed every 2-4 weeks during the growing season with a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength.

Likely a cultivar such as Asparagus setaceus 'Nanus' or Asparagus densiflorus 'Myersii' (Foxtail Fern); commonly sold as "Asparagus Mary" in local nurseries. Family: Asparagaceae.

Toxic to cats and dogs if ingested. The berries and sap can cause gastrointestinal upset, vomiting, and skin irritation.

Moderate; contributes to indoor humidity and general air quality improvement.

Adds beautiful, fine texture to plant compositions; excellent as a trailing or filler plant; relatively low-maintenance.

Can become invasive in warm garden climates; susceptible to spider mites and mealybugs; yellowing foliage from overwatering or insufficient light.

Perennial in zones 9-11; often grown as an annual or houseplant elsewhere. Can live for several years, with fronds reaching 30-60 cm in length.

Everyday 8:30AM to 6:30PM
