Hello, plant lover! I'm the Pentas Plant — your bright, star-flower beauty loved by butterflies, bees, and garden lovers! I bloom in clusters of tiny star-shaped flowers that add magic and color to any outdoor space.

I'm a bushy flowering plant known for my dense clusters of star-shaped blooms. My flowers come in pink, red, white, lavender, and magenta shades. I'm a favorite for butterfly gardens, borders, and balcony pots because I bloom heavily and attract pollinators.

I'm originally from tropical East Africa, where I grow in warm, sunny environments.

Water me when the top layer of soil feels slightly dry.
I prefer consistently moist soil but not waterlogging.
Water more during hot summers when I'm actively blooming.
Mulch helps retain moisture around my roots.

I thrive in full sunlight!
5–6 hours of direct sun helps me bloom continuously.
I tolerate partial shade but may produce fewer flowers.

I'm happiest between 20°C and 34°C.
I love warm climates and tolerate heat well.
Protect me from frost and temperatures below 12°C.

Use a pot or garden bed with good drainage.
Choose rich, fertile soil mixed with compost.
Plant me in sunny spots for maximum blooms.
Prune lightly to maintain shape and encourage new flower clusters.
Water well after planting.

Feed me once every 2–3 weeks during the growing season with a phosphorus-rich or bloom-booster fertilizer.
Organic compost improves flowering.
Avoid overfertilizing with nitrogen — it promotes leaves, not flowers.

Scientific Name: Pentas lanceolata
Common Names: Pentas, Star Flower, Egyptian Star Cluster
Plant Family: Rubiaceae
Plant Type: Perennial flowering plant (grown as annual in many regions)

I'm generally non-toxic and safe for pets.
Still, avoid allowing pets to chew my leaves.

I help freshen the air and improve outdoor air quality.
My dense foliage traps dust and pollutants naturally.

Produces abundant star-shaped flowers
Attracts butterflies, bees, and pollinators
Perfect for pots, borders, and balcony gardens
Blooms almost continuously in warm climates

You may notice:
Yellow leaves from overwatering
Fewer flowers from low sunlight
Aphids or whiteflies on tender shoots
Wilting from underwatering in heat
Fix by adjusting watering, improving sunlight, and using gentle pest control if needed.

With proper care, I can live for many years in warm climates.
In colder areas, I'm grown as an annual but can be replanted easily each season.
