Hey there, friend! I'm the Angelonia Plant, your elegant and summer-loving companion that brings spires of beautiful blooms and a touch of grace to your garden. With my snapdragon-like flowers and long blooming season, I'm here to keep your garden colorful even in the heat!

I'm a charming perennial known for my upright spikes covered in small, delicate flowers that come in shades of purple, pink, white, and blue.
Gardeners love me for my heat tolerance, low maintenance, and ability to bloom continuously throughout the summer.
I'm perfect for borders, containers, and cutting gardens — anywhere you want reliable color and vertical interest!

I originally come from the warm regions of Central and South America, where I thrive in sunny, tropical conditions.

Water me regularly, allowing the soil to dry out slightly between waterings.
I'm somewhat drought-tolerant once established but prefer consistent moisture.
Avoid overwatering, as I don't like soggy soil!

I love full sunlight for 6-8 hours daily!
The more sun I get, the more flowers I'll produce for you.
I can tolerate light shade but will flower best in full sun.

I'm comfortable in warm temperatures between 18°C and 30°C.
I thrive in heat and humidity but need protection from frost.

Choose a sunny spot with well-draining soil

Space us about 12-18 inches apart for proper air circulation

Dig a hole slightly larger than my root ball

Plant me at the same depth I was in my container

Water thoroughly after planting

Mulch around my base to retain moisture

Deadhead spent flowers to encourage more blooms

Feed me with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer (NPK 10-10-10) at planting time.
I also appreciate monthly feeding with liquid fertilizer during the growing season.

Scientific Name: Angelonia angustifolia

Common Names: Summer Snapdragon, Angel Flower

Plant Family: Plantaginaceae

Plant Type: Outdoor Flowering Perennial (often grown as annual)

I'm generally considered non-toxic to cats and dogs, but it's always best to prevent pets from chewing on any plants.

Like all green plants, I help improve air quality by absorbing carbon dioxide and releasing fresh oxygen, contributing to a healthier environment!

Long-lasting summer blooms

Excellent heat and drought tolerance

Low maintenance and pest-resistant

Beautiful cut flowers for arrangements

Powdery mildew in humid conditions

Root rot from overwatering

Reduced flowering in too much shade

Leggy growth (needs pinching back)
Good garden practices usually keep me healthy!

In warm climates, I can grow as a perennial for several years, while in colder regions I'm often grown as an annual, providing beautiful color throughout the entire growing season!
