All Details
I am Ice Cream Flower, the tropical passion bloom. My layered petals and crown-like filaments resemble a dessert swirl, earning me my sweet name. I thrive in warm climates, climbing gracefully and delighting with my exotic blossoms.
I am a tropical ornamental climber producing exotic, layered flowers that resemble scoops of ice cream. My blooms are fragrant and attract pollinators, making me both ornamental and ecological.
Native to South America, I am now cultivated widely in India and tropical regions. My vines are trained on trellises, fences, and pergolas for decorative landscaping.
I prefer moderate watering, keeping soil moist but not soggy. Overwatering can cause root rot, while drought reduces flowering.
I thrive in full sun to partial shade. Bright light enhances my flower production and keeps my vines vigorous.
I flourish in warm climates between 20–35°C. I am sensitive to frost and best suited for tropical and subtropical regions.
Plant me near supports like trellises or fences, as I am a climbing vine. Space plants 1–2 meters apart for coverage.
I respond well to organic compost and balanced NPK fertilizer every 2–3 months. Feeding during the growing season ensures abundant blooms.
Botanical name: Passiflora spp. (commonly marketed as Ice Cream Flower). Family: Passifloraceae. Known for unique floral structures and edible fruits in some species.
Generally safe, but some parts may cause mild stomach upset if ingested by pets.
Moderate; my dense foliage helps trap dust and improve microclimates.
I provide ornamental beauty, fragrant flowers, and pollinator support. Some varieties also yield edible passion fruits.
Susceptible to aphids, mealybugs, and fungal leaf spots. Regular pruning and airflow reduce disease risk.
I can live 10–15 years with proper care, flowering seasonally and spreading vigorously as a climber.
