Namaste, wellness warrior! I am the Neem tree, your powerful and purifying companion known as the "Village Pharmacy" in India. For centuries, I've been cherished for my incredible medicinal properties and my ability to thrive in challenging conditions. I'm not just a tree—I'm a natural healer, air purifier, and a symbol of resilience.

I'm a fast-growing evergreen tree with bright green, serrated leaflets and fragrant white flowers.
Every part of me—leaves, bark, seeds, and twigs—has remarkable medicinal value.
I'm deeply respected in Ayurvedic medicine and traditional practices across India.
I provide excellent shade and improve soil quality, making me a valuable friend in both rural and urban landscapes.

I am native to the Indian subcontinent and have been growing here for thousands of years, deeply woven into Indian culture and tradition.

I am incredibly drought-tolerant once established!
Water me deeply once a week during the first year.
Mature trees need minimal watering and can survive on rainfall alone in most Indian climates.

I thrive in full, direct sunlight—the more sun, the better!
I need at least 6-8 hours of direct sunlight daily for optimal growth.

I'm comfortable in hot conditions between 20°C and 40°C.
I can tolerate extreme heat up to 50°C and survive light frost, though I prefer warm climates.

Choose a sunny spot with plenty of space—I can grow quite large!

I'm not fussy about soil and can grow in poor, rocky, or sandy conditions.

Dig a hole twice as wide as the root ball and plant me at the same depth.

Water thoroughly after planting and mulch around the base.

I grow quickly—ensure I have enough space to spread my branches.

I'm very low-maintenance and don't need regular feeding!
A little compost or well-rotted manure applied once a year during monsoon is plenty.
I naturally improve the soil around me through my leaf litter.

While I'm safe around pets, my bitter taste usually discourages them from chewing. My extracts are actually used in natural pet care products!

I'm a superstar at purifying air! I absorb pollutants, release abundant oxygen, and my leaves have natural antimicrobial properties that clean the surrounding air.

Natural pesticide and insect repellent (neem oil from my seeds)

Medicinal properties for skin, hair, and overall health

Excellent shade provider in hot climates

Improves soil quality and prevents erosion

Every part of the tree has practical uses

Root rot - Only in constantly waterlogged soil

Scale insects - Occasionally, but my own leaves can help treat this!

Sooty mold - From honeydew-secreting pests

Leaf spot - In very humid conditions with poor air circulation

I'm a long-lived companion! With proper care, I can live for 150-200 years, growing into a magnificent, generous tree that serves generations to come.
