I am a vibrant and eye-catching foliage plant, famous for my broad, glossy leaves painted with bold shades of green, yellow, orange, red, and sometimes purple, highlighted by striking veins. Commonly known as Petra Croton, I am one of the most popular croton varieties, instantly adding a tropical and luxurious feel to any space.
I am a tropical ornamental shrub with leathery, variegated leaves in green, yellow, orange, and red. My foliage is my main attraction, making me a centerpiece in gardens and homes.
Native to Malaysia and Indonesia, I am now cultivated worldwide as a decorative plant.
I prefer evenly moist soil. Water me when the topsoil feels dry, but avoid waterlogging.
I thrive in bright, indirect light. Outdoors, I enjoy partial sun. Too little light fades my colors.
I flourish in warm climates between 20–30°C. I am sensitive to frost and cold drafts.
Plant me in well-draining soil rich in organic matter. I grow well in pots or garden beds.
Feed me with a balanced liquid fertilizer every 2–4 weeks during the growing season.
Botanical name: Codiaeum variegatum ‘Petra’. Family: Euphorbiaceae.
I am toxic to pets if ingested, causing stomach upset. Keep me out of reach of cats and dogs.
Moderate; I help improve indoor air quality but my main value is ornamental.
I provide vibrant foliage, tropical ambiance, and decorative appeal indoors and outdoors.
I am prone to spider mites, scale insects, and leaf drop if stressed.
I can live for many years with proper care, continuously producing colorful foliage.
