I am Spathodea, the African Tulip Tree. My large clusters of flame-colored flowers light up avenues and gardens. I thrive in warm climates, offering shade, beauty, and nectar for birds.
I am a tropical ornamental tree producing clusters of bright orange-red flowers.
Native to tropical Africa; widely cultivated in India, Asia, and the Caribbean.
Water weekly when young; drought-tolerant once mature.
Requires full sun.
Thrives in 25–35°C; sensitive to frost.
Plant in sandy-loam soil; spacing 8–10 meters apart; suited for avenues and parks.
Minimal; compost annually for young trees.
Botanical name: Spathodea campanulata; Family: Bignoniaceae.
Non-toxic; not used as fodder.
Moderate; large canopy reduces dust.
