I am the sunny Lentena Yellow, a burst of constant sunshine in the garden. My vibrant, dome-shaped clusters of pure yellow flowers and aromatic green foliage create a cheerful, long-lasting display that warmly attracts pollinators from spring until the first frost.
I am a robust, evergreen flowering shrub, a specific color cultivar prized for my uniform golden blooms and exceptional heat and drought tolerance.
Native to tropical regions of the Americas and Africa; the yellow cultivar is widely cultivated in gardens globally.
Water regularly to establish, then moderately; highly drought-tolerant once mature. Allow soil to dry between waterings.
Requires full sun (at least 6+ hours daily) for the most compact growth and prolific flowering.
Thrives in 21-35°C; cannot tolerate frost.
Plant in well-drained, average to poor soil; space 60-90 cm apart to allow for mature spread.
Light feeding with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in spring; too much fertilizer reduces blooms.
Botanical name: Lantana camara 'Yellow' or similar cultivar; Family: Verbenaceae.
Toxic to cats, dogs, and horses if ingested; all parts of the plant are poisonous.
Low to Moderate; contributes to general garden air quality and ecosystem health.
Provides non-stop color for months; excellent butterfly and pollinator magnet; ideal for xeriscaping, hot borders, and containers.
Can be invasive in warm climates; may attract whiteflies and spider mites; prone to sooty mold if aphids are present.
Perennial in zones 9-11; grown as an annual in colder climates. Can live for several years, growing 0.6-1.2 meters tall and wide.
